How to complete a transport order

A transport order is one delivery run with several stops. Plan the route, pack and deliver it, and the drive, the mileage and your team's time are split across the sales orders on board.

Transport orders are part of the Growth plan. Don't run delivery routes? Choose I don't run delivery routes in the Getting Started guide.

Plan the run

  1. Go to Transport Orders and click Add Transport Order.
  2. Under General Information, set the Scheduled Delivery and the Departure Time, and add your Assignees. Give each one a role: Pack & Delivery, Packer or Delivery.
  3. Under Destinations, click Add Sales Orders, tick the orders going out and click the Add button below the list. Orders going to the same address share a stop.
  4. Click Calculate Route, or Optimize Route to put the stops in the best order.
  5. Click Save.

Deliver it

  1. Set Status to In progress and click Start Fulfillment. The products and packaging for every order come out of stock, and this can't be undone.
  2. On the Pack & Delivery tab, time Pack Orders while you pack, then Deliver Orders while you drive. When both are done, the run is Delivered.

Didn't run the timers? Set Status to Delivered, choose Use estimated time or Enter Actual Time for each part, and click Complete & Deliver.

Every sales order on the run is marked Shipped.

What you'll see

The Cost Summary card shows the run's Materials, its Labor (Packing and Delivery), the Fuel & Mileage from the route, and Postage & Fees, adding up to a Total Cost.

Each sales order on the run gets its share:

  • Packaging and postage go to the order they're for.
  • Delivery time and mileage are split evenly across the stops, then evenly among the orders at each stop.
  • Packing time is split by how many units each stop takes.

On those sales orders, Shipping & Handling reads "Labor and mileage managed by Transport Order".
